Personal Information Collection List

Account information

Information: Email address and/or mobile number, real name, password (stored only as a salted hash, and absent entirely on accounts that sign in with a code).

Purpose: Registration, sign-in, account identification and recovery. In mainland China a verified mobile number is also how the account is tied to a real identity, as the law requires — it is never shown to other users.

Scenario: Provided by you at registration and sign-in. A mobile number is verified either by an SMS code or, if you tap it, by one-tap sign-in with the SIM in your phone.

Identity information (sensitive personal information)

Information: Resident ID number; the real name locked at registration; what Alibaba Cloud’s check page returns — the verdict, check scores, device-risk tags, one best face frame and a roughly one-second evidence video (all sensitive personal information, kept encrypted or in object storage in your account’s region for the life of the account and deleted with it).

Purpose: Real-identity verification required by mainland-China law for mainland-homed accounts, and available to holders of a PRC resident ID card homed elsewhere when a name review asks for it or by choice (the check runs on Alibaba Cloud’s mainland service; verified in the background, never shown to other users): your name and ID number are matched against the authoritative record, and a liveness check plus a comparison with the official ID photo confirms it is you. One ID card can back only one account.

Scenario: Only when you start identity verification, read the notice and tick a separate consent — never bundled with the terms. The ID number is stored encrypted, only in your account’s region, and is deleted with the account; the face frame and video serve profile-photo matching, duplicate-account detection and dispute handling, stay in that region, and are deleted when the account is deleted or moves region. Professional profile

Information: Profile photo (with its face-verification result), work experiences, education history, timeline posts (including images/videos you upload), skills, city-level location.

Purpose: Building your professional page, the network graph, and similar-people recommendations.

Scenario: Entered or uploaded by you when editing your profile.

Face information (sensitive personal information)

Information: A face template — a list of numbers derived from the geometry of your face — and one 192x192 cropped image of your face, kept so your template can be recomputed if the matching software improves. Both are encrypted. If a check fails, the camera frames from that attempt are kept for up to 30 days for human review.

Purpose: Confirming a live person is present at signup, that a profile photo you upload is you, and that one person is not holding several accounts.

Scenario: Collected only during the camera check, with your separate consent, which you can decline in favour of human review. Full details and deletion: /face-recognition

Location information

Information: City-level location (inferred from your network address, or from positioning you have authorized). Precise location is collected only while you actively start a real-time location share or a check-in; it stops when the share ends and is not stored long-term. With Nearby turned on, the position reported is kept only on a coarse grid (about 100 m by default; the platform may set it anywhere from 100 to 5000 m, and the Nearby opt-in screen states the current precision) and lapses after 24 hours without an update.

Purpose: Profile display and the sharing features you initiate.

Scenario: On app use (city-level); only during shares/check-ins you start (precise).

Social and communication data

Information: Your connections, chat messages and attachments, and the connection signaling of voice/video calls (call media itself travels peer-to-peer and is not stored by the server).

Purpose: Providing chat, calls, and networking features.

Scenario: Generated as you use those features.

Device information

Information: Device model, OS version, app version, push registration identifiers, IP address.

Purpose: Message push delivery, signed-in device management, security.

Scenario: Collected automatically at sign-in and push registration.

Usage records

Information: Feature-usage statistics and error logs.

Purpose: Product improvement and troubleshooting.

Scenario: Generated as you use the app.
