Frequently asked questions
What is Gravity?
Gravity is a professional networking app that shows your network as a living 3D graph instead of a flat list. You sit at the center; direct connections form the first ring, friends-of-friends the second, and companies and universities appear as hubs that link people together. You can orbit, zoom, and click anyone to see who they are and how you are connected.
How is the 3D graph built?
From your real network: your connections, their connections, and the organizations you share — employers and schools. Gravity also notices when you and someone nearby cross paths repeatedly (using a coarse, privacy-preserving location cell, never your exact position) and suggests them as people you may actually know.
Does Gravity have chat?
Yes — realtime one-to-one and group chat with read receipts and typing indicators, file and image sharing, and optional live location sharing so meeting up is easy. Large groups with thousands of members stay fast.
Is Gravity free? How do I sign in?
Gravity is free. Sign in with Google in one click, or with email and password. One hplab account works across every hplab app, including Snore Analyzer.
Can I install Gravity on my phone?
Yes. Gravity is an installable web app (PWA): open hplab.dev/gravity in Chrome on Android (or Safari on iOS), choose "Install app" / "Add to Home Screen", and it runs full-screen like a native app with its own icon.
What are "spacetime overlaps"?
A Gravity-only discovery signal. When two people repeatedly appear in the same coarse area around the same time — the same campus, office district or conference — Gravity suggests they might know each other. Only rough location cells are used, and only to make suggestions.
