Frequently asked questions

How does Snore Analyzer detect snoring?

Two detectors. A fast energy heuristic flags loud, low-frequency bursts in the 80–2000 Hz snore band. A deep-learning detector runs the MIT AudioSet Audio Spectrogram Transformer, which scores each window for snoring, snorts, gasps, breathing and more — and surfaces rough snore→silence→gasp apnea patterns.

Do I have to upload my whole night of audio?

You can upload an existing recording of any size — it transfers in resumable chunks and resumes if your connection drops — or record overnight directly in the app. When you save a result, the original recording is kept with it so you can replay any snoring event later; you can untick that at save time or delete a saved night (recording included) at any point.

Can I hear the snoring it found?

Yes. Click any event on the night timeline (or in the event list) and it plays that exact moment of your recording, with a note of what the AI heard — snoring, snort, gasp. The full night is playable too.

Is it free?

Yes. Snore Analyzer is free to use. Sign in with one hplab account to save results and compare nights; analysis works even without an account.

Can I compare multiple nights?

Yes. Saved results live in your account, and you can overlay several nights to see trends in snoring time, event count and the percentage of the night spent snoring.

Is this a medical diagnosis?

No. Snore Analyzer is an informational tool based on sound alone. The apnea-pattern hint is a rough indicator, not a diagnosis — talk to a clinician about sleep-health concerns.
